Where will I be this weekend?
I like to have my trips planned a little ahead of time. So, I always post my trips for the coming week/weekend here. I try to post them the Thursday before the weekend.
Plus I am always going out hiking on my own, so I this page is to keep those who want to know where I will be, informed. This is also a safety precaution just in case I do not return on time. Haven't ran into any trouble I couldn't handle yet. But...
Next week is my second week of vacation this year. My plans are to get to locations with Larches and Lakes. Here are my plans for the week:
Saturday, September 24, 2011 - Rockbound Lake
I am going to start with an old favorite. Rockbound Lake. I have been here many times, both summer and this winter with snowshoes. I hope to get to the NW edge of the lake, under the shadow of Castle Mt., and take a panorama looking back towards Banff. I have never been over to this edge before, should compliment my Panorama collection.

I do not think there are any larches at this lake but I am going to see I can make a better Panorama this time.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - Hidden Lake, Skokie
I was at this lake at the beginning of the month, I did a bike in to Temple Lodge and hiked from there. I learned most of the biking part is all up hill. The hike part is all flat. Sweet. I have an idea on how to take this lake now. Today I should be joined by Len. At this time we still have to finalize plans. We might have to reschedule this to another day, so watch out. We are planning on walk out cross country along the ridge south of the lake, it is covered in Larch!!

This will be a new location for me, WOW!! That does not happen much for me. Len tells me this a great hike, and from the guild book it should have larch around the lake.

This is the only location in Kananaskis that has larches, so off I go to it. I think I am going to cheat and bike in to for the first part.
